Rework Apprentice

Basic Function:

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on a metallizer with additional responsibilities to perform preparation and detailed restoration of engine parts & components. Conforming to the specific routing tag & engine manual instructions of model being worked using approved data.

Essential duties are as follows but are not limited to:

  • Preparation, rework and masking of various engine parts. Application of surface treatments and coatings.
  • Clean, set up and operate metallizer per scheduled sequence, work instructions and customer requirement.
  • Ensures the use of appropriate manual references and proper tools in performing component restoration.
  • Full responsibility for the cleaning and maintenance of all supporting equipment in the department.
  • Removes grease, dirt, paint, and corrosion from aircraft surface, using media equipment, abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
  • Perform heat treatment and stress relief process.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English and Spanish.
  • Must have a general understanding of Aircraft Component Maintenance Manuals.
  • Usage of company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for this position.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to machine operation and product quality.

Strongly Desired:

  • MRO/Aviation experience with a Part 145 repair station
  • Able to read & interpret aircraft engine manuals
  • Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment such as paint spray equipment, grinding equipment and part restoration tools

Basic Schedule: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday – Friday, additional time as needed.
